The study examined environment and social change in Nigeria. Two research questions and two specific objectives were used to guide the study. The study adopted conflict perspective social change as the theoretical framework. The study adopted desk research methodology with a population of 223,804,632 which is 2024 projected population of Nigeria. Data were collected from secondary sources and analysed with content analysis. From secondary data analysed, the study found out that the causes of social change in Nigeria are environmental factors, political factors, etc. Also, it was discovered that the effects of social change in Nigeria in relation to the environment are cultural shifts, political reforms amongst others. The study therefore, recommends that, there should education and awareness on the effects of social change. This can be done by promoting critical thinking, civic engagement, and social responsibility through inclusive education and public awareness campaigns.
