EFFECT OF AGE DIVERSITY MANAGEMENT ON NON-FINANCIAL PEFORMANCE IN NIMPAT GROUP OF COMPANIES, ABUJA

Age diversity was studied as a potential predictor of non-financial performance indices such as employee engagement, innovation, and retention at NIMPAT Group of Companies in Abuja. The problem was that very little is understood about the influence of age diversity on non-financial performance of Nigerian companies in particular in overcoming generational biases in support of organizational outcomes. A survey of employees from various departments in NIMPAT Group was used as the main approach for data collection. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire with Likert-scale answers capturing opinions regarding the effects of age diversity. Descriptive statistics such as means and standard deviations were used in the analysis, while multiple regressions were used to test relationships between variables. The study found that age diversity could enhance innovation and employee engagement, provided it is complemented with management practices that promote inclusiveness such as inter-generational mentoring and flexible work policies. On the other hand, failure to manage generational differences may hamper collaboration, hence making a case for strategic diversity management to leverage advantages.
