The aim of this research is to determine the impact and effectiveness of the Nigeria security and civil defence corps on surveillance of oil and gas pipelines on the Niger Delta region of Nigeria between 2010 and 2024. The researcher used conflict transformation theory propounded by Lederach in 1995 to provide academic foundation for the study. The activities of the Nigeria security and civil defence corps to secure oil and gas pipelines in the Niger Delta region, Nigeria was thoroughly examined. This security outfit has taken several proactive steps to prevent oil and gas pipelines vandalisation. It was revealed that the Nigeria security and civil defence corps has arrested and persecuted several youths involved in illegal refining of oil and vandalisation of pipelines in the Niger Delta re gion of Nigeria. It was also revealed that the rate of oil and gas pipelines vandalism has reduced drastically. It was therefore, recommended that the Federal government of Nigeria should embark on deliberate measure to create employment among the youths of the Niger Delta.
