To produce a written text in French as a foreign language is always a difficult activity for learners to accomplish because it always requires the mastering of linguistic, cultural, pragmatic elements, etc. Learners of the Nigeria French Language Village (NFLV) encounter non only syntax, spelling, morphologic difficulties but they equally have problem in applying punctuation signs in their essay writing. In fact, to write well requires also a good punctuation. One of the causes of the difficulties of learners is the fact that teachers do not accord importance in the teaching of punctuation signs or they teach them with inappropriate and inefficient methods. While punctuation constitute a study subject to be taken into consideration. This article focuses mainly on teaching/learning strategies of punctuation signs that will help learners to master their usage. Thus, the study tries to remodel their teaching/learning. At the end, a suggestion of a teaching and learning method was made available to help teachers to teach better to enable an efficient learning of these signs.
